HELPLESS

Every time we see this kind of images, we realise that if we hadn’t born in the first world, we would probably have endured a life in poverty like this child, whois not guilty of have been born in a poor countrie without any economic resource. Unlike us, that we only search for commodity and happiness, these children are forced to find a way to survive, and that’s why we can’t put on this children’s shoes, because we never had to survive alone, without help and we don’t know how it feels. An example of poverty in the world is the children who has no resources to have a stable life; as we can see in this photo.

This image was taken in Yemen, where a civil war fractured this country in 2 sides and the poverty is one of the consequences of this war. In the foreground, we can see a child who must be about six years old washing clothes in a truck wheel with some water, which surely is not drinkable. On the left and in the background, we can see a pile of rocks which may be from a house in debris, and also some rubble on the floor. This photo shows us clearly the lack of means that people that lives in countries with lots of economic difficulties have; they have to search for methods to meet the basic needs. The expression of this child reveals that he is used to do this works to help his family, but he also looks like if he hasn’t smiled or felt happiness for a long time.

All in all I would say that in this picture we can see the contrast between a child living in a country with good economy and a child born in countries with lack of resources or facing wars like Syria or Yemen; while children in Spain spends his childhood playing and laughing with other childs, in Yemen they have to work to survive. Instead of enjoying life, they have to bear it. In order to help this people, people living in wealthy countries should sacrifice part of our commodity, but we are too lazy to help those who need it.
